We are very proud to announce that each of our three submissions to this year's Sport Industry Awards has been shortlisted!
This year three categories were submitted and each has been put through to final judgment. Winners are determined by a panel of industry professionals, who consider a variety of criteria in making their decision. Their results are audited by Deloitte, ensuring that this is a prestigious award indeed.
Opened in September, ZSC Academy is being considered for the title of Youth Organisation of the Year after getting off to a strong start. Highlights of the bid are an 89% retention rate, our coaches achieving 4.78/5 score in professionalism and 2,170 hours of coaching delivered in only four months.
For the second year, the ADCB Zayed Sports City Pink 5&10k Run Presented by Daman's Activelife will vie to be named the Best Amateur Sport Event in the UAE. Having won bronze last year, the run sold out with their expanded capacity and donated AED 47,291 to Al Jalila Foundation. They were busy in the media, getting 52 print and online new stories published and was rated 9.1/10 by participants.
Since the SPIAS started in 2013, we've been able to back up our claim as being the best sport and entertainment destination in the region, and this year our expectations are no different. In the category of best venue, Zayed Sports City will face some stiff competition but is anchored by great statistics to back us up. With 34+ sports, 103 public events and 1.3 million visitors through the gates last year, we're really proud to be a place that the community comes for their sports.
Credit in achieving these nominations must be shared with our fantastic partners, many of whom have been shortlisted for awards themselves. Wish us all luck and stay tuned to find out how we fare at the awards on 11 April.
