Summer holidays may seem far in the distance but Zayed Sports City is already planning great programmes for when the weather gets hot.
The Ramadan Football and Bowling Tournaments return to provide great sporting opportunities during the holy month. In the football tournament, teams will play after Iftar, cheered on by their families and friends in a light but competitive atmosphere. At least 280 players are expected to join the seven-a-side tournament, spread among teams trying to dethrone last year’s champion Al Zaeam and earn a slice of the cash prize pot.
The Ramadan Bowling Tournament is likely to break records again, ahead of the World Bowling Championship for Women, as men and women from across the UAE compete for the biggest prize pot on offer in the city. The event takes place over a month as individuals vie to stay ahead of the competition. Participant’s best three scores are used to determine qualifying round rankings, so the competition is not just against others, it is against your previous performance as well.
Kids Camp will take place from 5 July to 28 August as well! Offering a full day of activities to keep children aged 5 to 12 active during the summer break, spaces in the camp are expected to fill quickly.
