The home team reveled in receiving the Emirates Hockey League title on 26 February as the Abu Dhabi Storms topped the competition and ultimately beat the Mighty Camels 6-2 in front of their rowdy fans.

Led by Borna Silovic’s hat trick, the play was intense on the ice. The match included 87 shots on goal, and 18 power plays throughout the final night. The Storms played fast and furious all night, while the Mighty Camels were besieged by penalties, racking up 69:15 minutes of time spent in the box.

Between periods, action didn’t stop, as the entertainment was ramped up for the event. Break dancing, mascot appearances and more energetic activities kept the crowd, the largest ever, engaged and cheering.

To honour the upcoming Special Olympics World Games, bracelets were handed out to visitors and the puck-drop was conducted by a person of determination, showing further the power of sport to unify.
