Canadian superstar Milos Raonic has been confirmed to return to Abu Dhabi for the Mubadala World Tennis Championship. This event will ensure high-powered tennis throughout the weekend of 29 - 31 December.

An annual tennis competition, now in its ninth year, MWTC is cemented in the UAE sports calendar as the ultimate skills test for the world’s top tennis players ahead of the new season. The Championship sees six of the world’s top players battle it out across three days at Zayed Sports City.

Action is guaranteed as world #9 Raonic waits waits to learn of his elite competition. Past competitors in the event include Rafael Nada, Stan Wawrinka and David Ferrer.

Raonic noted: “I am very excited to be returning to Abu Dhabi for the start of the Championship. I had a really enjoyable experience last year; challenging for the title in my debut outing and taking in an incredible atmosphere. It’s a fantastic start to the season to face off against the other top players and we can all get our games going early on. Last year the tournament helped me to start the year strong and I’ll be hoping for more of the same this time around. The line-up is always challenging in Abu Dhabi but that’s one of the main attractions. I am already looking forward to getting back out to the UAE and meeting the fans. The tournament will be a great way to end 2016 and an even better way to start the New Year and the new season.”

Beyond the “winner takes all” on-court excitement, the Tennis Village will include coaching clinics, autograph sessions and interactive sponsor activations.

Tickets to the event start from AED 50 and are now on sale at ticketmaster.ae For more details on the tournament visit mubadalawtc.com
