Director of ZSC Academy
Sigi is genetically engineered to love sports. As the son of a World Cup footballer, he was encouraged to try many athletic endeavours, particularly football and tennis, since the age of 4 and began a career in coaching at 17 years old. This passion for sports allowed him to successfully build a private sports school and now, to lead ZSC Academy. In addition a university degree in Sales and Marketing, he holds certification as a tennis coach with the Belgian Tennis Federation and Tennis Emirates.
His family is a priority in his free time.
Aden has been a tennis player since age 9. Despite his late start, he excelled in the sport as a junior, ranking amongst the Top 10 in South Africa, and participating in ITF tournaments around the world, having faced Kevin Anderson as a youth player.
He transitioned into coaching at age 19 and previously owned his own academy and led the 15,000-strong South African tennis development programme as Head Coach. He’s taught tennis in South Africa, the USA and UAE and loves watch children having fun on the court. Aden is certified by the South African Tennis Association.
Aside from tennis, Aden is an avid athlete with a special interest in rugby and cricket.
Al Ain Tennis Coach
Since grabbing a racket for the first time at age 6, Alex’s love for tennis has only grown. From representing his country as a member of the Junior National Team to leading camps to serving as tennis director in Singapore, he is experienced in every angle of the game.
Alex is a PTR licensed coach who loves tennis not only because it is a great workout and a social game, but because it has mental benefits as well.
Off the court, Alex is likely to be hiking, fishing or reading.
An avid sportswoman, Amanda proved herself as a contender in many sports, including tennis, which she took up at age 7. Among many tournament wins as a junior and adult, she participated in some of Kent, UK’s top clubs for cricket, football and field hockey.
Her passion is strongest in tennis and while she was still in secondary school, Amanda began leading groups at camps and in schools in England. Since then, she’s earned qualifications and diplomas with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) and has completed Davis Cup Legacy Coach Training.
Outside of sports, Amanda is a keen photographer who also enjoys motorcycling, surfing and socializing with friends.
Head of Tennis, Sport Psychologist
Dina is a former professional tennis player who started at age 4. She played in the Junior Australian Open and earned Top 10 rankings in the European ITF before joining WTA tournaments at age 16. A coach since 22 years old, Dina is certified through PTR and has worked with top players, including Serbia’s #1 and #3 ranked juniors.
Holding a PhD in Clinical Psychology, Dina worked as the sport psychologist for Serbian U20 National Football Team during their World Cup winning season and is a licensed Transactional Analysis psychotherapist well equipped to deal with anxiety and motivation in young athletes.
For fun, Dina skis, reads novels and does puzzles.
A tennis player since age 6, Djordje (Georgie) is a former Serbian National and European junior champion with more than six years of coaching experience. In his tenure, he’s worked with ranked players, notably doubles specialist Xenia Knoll, who reached no. 40 in WTA play.
He is well versed in not only tennis, but in general athletic development, having run a youth sports academy before transitioning into tennis full-time. Licensed with PTR and GPTCA, his coaching experience has included stints in Serbia, China and the UAE. Inspiring a love for tennis is what motivates his coaching sessions.
In addition to being an avid skier and fitness lover, George also has an eye for fashion.
GORANA STEVANOVIC SARCEVIC
Gorana’s first tennis lesson was at age 6, and since that time she has proven herself to be incredibly talented in the sport. As a player, she reached No. 7 in Europe, was ranked by WTA, also earning three national championships before becoming a tennis instructor in 2011. Having worked in Germany, Serbia and the UAE, Gorana’s favourite thing about tennis is the feeling of proudly lifting a trophy. This talented female tennis coach is licensed by the Tennis Federation of Serbia.
When she has free time, Gorana can be often found studying to finish her sports degree or spending time with friends.
Cycling Coach, Gulf Multi Sport
A dedicate sports professional, Helen has made a career of her love for all things active. After many years of sport in her childhood, Helen added cycling to her repertoire as an adult. In addition to a degree in Sports Development and Psychology, she is certified as a coach in several sports governing bodies, including British Cycling, and especially loves working with people who are just starting out on the bike.
Assistant Cycling Coach, Gulf Multi Sport
Full of energy and always on the go, Kay began cycling as a child and has never let the excitement for the sport fade. She’s been helping people stay safe, have fun, and perfect their techniques for as long as she’s known how to pedal! For her, cycling is not just a sport, it is a part of her life that gives her freedom.
In her spare time, Kay is usually painting, learning new languages and practicing yoga.
Al Ain Tennis Coach
A player since age 9, Lamia has achieved great success in professional events around the world. A standout player since appearing in her first National Championship final in U14, her drive for success helped her achieve a top ranking of 460 (singles) and 380 (doubles) in the WTA.
She is rather accomplished as a coach as well. For more than two decades, Lamia’s been attending certifications and conferences to ensure that she delivers a top level of service to her players. She holds licensures from ITF, the Moroccan Tennis Federation and North African Tennis Congress.
Lamia really enjoys reading, travelling and playing sport in her free time.
Ice Skating Coach
Louann started ice skating as a teenager and quickly took to the sport, finding a hidden talent in many disciplines on the ice. Having fallen in love with ice hockey, she’s proven her abilities representing the Philippines on the ice for eight years and as a current coach for the UAE Women’s National Team. She also holds coaching certification from the Ice Skating Institute of Asia which allows her to coach Learn to Skate through Delta level. Balance and control are the critical elements of skating that she appreciates most.
Off of the ice, Louann can be found relaxing by the beach, cycling or camping.
MARILOU DELA CRUZ
Ice Skating Coach
Marilou has a unique perspective on ice skating, beginning her formal training as an adult in 2013. This allows her to be empathetic to the challenges of adult learners and patient with young ones alike. She has coached since 2016 and proudly holds certification from the Ice Skating Institute of Asia.
A convert to Islam, Marilou spends free time learning to read the Quran and write in Arabic.
A tennis player since the age of 8, Naomi has experience playing and coaching at a high level. As an NCAA college player she ranked at #29 before turning her passion for the sport into a career as a coach. Since 2012, she has worked with and for top athletes, including a stint at Rafa Nadal Academy and supporting Division I university players. Her favourite thing about tennis is the reward gained from the discipline, hard work and sacrifice required by the sport.
Outside of work, Naomi enjoys lots of sports, particularly volleyball and football, as well as travelling and reading.
Cycling Coach, Gulf Multi Sport
Olly is an all-around sportsman who has been riding a bike since he was 4. After learning the basics, he took up off-road cycling and mountain biking and taught classes in the UK. He’s made his passion for sports a profession; he is certified to coach swimming and football, and his cycling qualification was earned from British Cycling.
When Olly isn’t busy with sports, you can find him watching sports or at the beach.
Omar has been involved with tennis for nearly two decades. A coach since 2006, he spent a year working with the South African national team, a stint on the staff of Juan Carlos Ferrero Academy and developed his U12 team into the Top 10. He holds certification from the ITF and has attended courses with renowned tennis specialist Mark Tennant. The variety in tactics is his favourite part of tennis.
Omar enjoys sports in his free time, such as running and watching football matches.
RODRIGO ARAYA CAMPOS
Tennis Coach, High Performance Trainer
A tennis player since the age of 12, Rodrigo was inspired to pick up a tennis racket after watching Chilean superstar Marcelo Rios. Having played football before, and always with an interest in physical activity, he kept a high level of play on the Future Tour and as a member of his university’s team.
After graduating with a degree in physical education, Rodrigo worked as a fitness trainer for high performance athletes and was encouraged to become a tennis coach by his mentor, a role he has had for a decade. He is certified by the tennis federations of Chile, his home country, and Spain, where he coached for two years, and is a certified fitness professional as well. He thrives on pressure and loves overcoming the nervousness that competition brings.
Sports occupy his time off the court, and he won’t pass up a siesta.
Ice Skating Coach
Steve is an all-around sportsman who has been ice skating since the age of 5, having participated in running events, basketball, football, baseball and martial arts as well. A former Junior Olympian in running events, he’s settled in as an ice skating coach since 2009. His roles have also included an ice hockey official and sports trainer, bringing a unique skill set to ZSC Academy.
If he is not in a warm jacket on the ice, Steve is likely to be found spending time at the beach.
