The Abu Dhabi Striders, organisers of the ADCB Zayed Sports City 5&10k Run Series, are thrilled at the turnout for their most recent race and looking forward to the remaining two runs in the season.
The second Pink Run was held to benefit Al Jalila Foundation, which supports breast cancer treatment in the UAE. While a formidable 460 people finished the 2013 edition, this number was smashed on 10 October when a stunning 619 medals were distributed. This represented a 35% increase and will certainly make an impact on the health of the UAE.
Further impressing onlookers was the demographic range of the runners. The age span was the biggest yet, with the youngest entrant (age 8) and oldest entrant (age 93) proving that you're never too young or too old to look after your own health.
Race entries sold out in October and are looking to do the same at future runs taking place on 9 January and 6 March in 2015. These races will support the Special Care Centre Abu Dhabi.
