Zahra Lari, the UAE’s Ice Princess, talked to students from Al Mushrif School about figure skating last month. In front of a crowded audience of students aged five to 12, the Emirati skater told them her successful skating story. She shared how she started to skate, what means to be a committed figure skater and compete at international level and, more importantly, how she feels when she is on the ice. The children were captivated by Zahra’s story, talent, costumes and medals, as well as the world of figure skating. They asked her many questions in order to find more about this sport and about the place where she practices, and, by the end of the meeting, many of the children were convinced that they want to come and skate at Zayed Sports City Ice Rink.
